XVALA is an art project created by Jeff Hamilton (b. 1970). XVALA typically focuses on pieces that address celebrity and popular culture and he refers to this as ‘Tabloid Art.’ XVALA collaborated with sculptor Daniel Edwards on ‘The Brangelina,’ a house located in Oklahoma. In 2010, Jeff Hamilton walked away from his art and the name XVALA. Hamilton passed the name on to unnamed, upcoming artist.

‘Fear Google’ is the first street art sticker designed for the Post-PC era and was launched in 2010, the same year as Apple’s iPad and other Post-PC devices. The stickers fear message shows society’s growing inability to disconnect from the internet. First distributed by friends of the artist and some Apple Store employees the first stickers appeared on the California city streets.

‘Mark Zuckerberg’s Not Very Well Hung Hanger is a phallic sculpture derived from a hanger stolen from Mark Zuckerberg’s residential trash in Palo Alto, California. XVALA articulated, ‘I just wanted to mooch a bit, and I thought it’d be funny to use Zuck in the same way he uses all of us. Trash is always an important part of information collection — it’s revealing.’ ‘The Sculpture is about our loss of privacy in post-PC era.’

‘Slammed and Dunked,’ a piece created by XVALA from a basketball retrieved from Kim Kardashian’s garbage shortly following her divorce in 2011, was the focal point of a modern art show in Los Angeles in 2012. ‘Slammed and Dunked’ is a resin sculpture based on the original, ‘Trash Ball,’ which was also on display at the event along with screen prints of Kim Kardashian Twitter quotes. ‘We give our information to the Internet the same way we give our trash to the world, therefore trash is information to me.’

XVALA has numerous quotations: ‘Ratings are better than money.’ ‘Welcome to the Sucker Free Society.’ ‘Love from one person just isn’t enough.’ ‘Successful body language makes successful people.’ ‘I’m feel’n lucky!’ ‘You will never be famous.’ ‘In Google America, keep your secrets if you can.’ ‘Before Google, I had romantic feelings of how people had become famous.’ ‘If you have nothing to hide, you have everything to fear.’ ‘Being upset for something that happened in the past isn’t as exciting as being upset for the things that are going to happen in the future.’ ’24 hour insecurity.’ ‘If you have something you don’t want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place.’
